A Vision Towards Value-Based Higher Education in Pakistan

Universities shape the intellectual, social, and moral fabric of a society. Around the world, more than 29,000 universities guide nations toward progress. In comparison, Pakistan—with a population of nearly 230 million—has only 365 universities, out of which 128 (83 Public & 45 Private) are recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Despite this number, only a limited few offer quality education, and even fewer provide value-based learning grounded in ethics, service, and community development.

The rising cost of education—especially after COVID-19—has further restricted access for aspiring students. Many institutions have turned into degree-awarding bodies driven by commercial interests, often disconnected from 21st-century competencies and the moral grounding required for real societal impact.

In response to this national gap, Fatimiyah Higher Education System (FHES) was formally founded in October 2022 by KPSIAJ as a transformative step toward establishing Fatimiyah International University (FiU)—Pakistan’s first value-based university. FHES builds on KPSIAJ’s longstanding educational heritage, which began in 1965, and continues to expand with a commitment to professional excellence and ethical development.

This journey began with the establishment of the Fatimiyah Institute of Education Sciences (FIES) in 2011, accredited by the National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE). Alongside FIES, KPSIAJ also manages the Fatimiyah Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences (FINAHS), which plays a vital role in producing compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals.

FHES is supported by generous philanthropists and the consistent patronage of the World Federation, whose commitment strengthens our mission to nurture morally grounded and professionally competent graduates.

With the establishment of FHES, KPSIAJ aims to transition from national to international standards through a phased strategy, ultimately evolving into Fatimiyah International University (FiU) — an institution offering world-class, values-driven education that empowers students to serve humanity with knowledge, integrity, and purpose.
